When guests write to me about a 2027 cruise, their first message is often just a ship name and a date. My first job is to look up the call: when the ship arrives, when it leaves, and what that leaves us for the day.
I’m Mago, a licensed tour guide with 10 years of experience on the French Riviera. In this guide, I have done that work for every 2027 call I could find for Villefranche-sur-Mer, and added the column I care about most: which of our tours fits that call.
My quick answer: most large ships calling at Villefranche in 2027 are scheduled in port from around 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. That is enough for a full day in Èze and Monaco. Calls of around nine to nine and a half hours suit a half-day tour. And on a few days, two large ships are listed together, which the new rules no longer allow at anchor in the same bay, so check those calls carefully.
Where these dates come from
The table below is built from public cruise schedules published online in October 2026. They list 63 calls on 53 different days, from March to October 2027.
These are planning schedules, not official port confirmations. They change as cruise lines adjust their itineraries, and some entries have no published arrival or departure time. Treat this as a starting point, and always check your own cruise line’s confirmed itinerary. If your ship is not in the table, it does not mean it will not call: contact us with your details and we will check.
How I matched each call to a tour
The column “Tours that fit this call” is based on the scheduled time in port, from arrival to departure. I then work backwards from all-aboard, as I explain in my Villefranche cruise port guide, allowing for the tender in the morning and a generous margin before the last tender in the afternoon.
| Scheduled time in port | What usually fits |
|---|---|
| 10 hours or more | A full day in Èze and Monaco, with time for lunch |
| 8 to 10 hours | A half-day tour: Èze and Monaco, or Èze and Saint-Paul-de-Vence |
| 6 to 8 hours | Èze on its own, or Villefranche and the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild |
| Under 6 hours | Villefranche on foot |
These are planning categories, not promises. A slow tender morning or an earlier all-aboard time can move a call down a category. When that happens, I shorten the plan rather than the return margin.

What the 2027 schedule tells us
Norwegian Epic is the most frequent caller
Norwegian Epic appears 16 times in the 2027 listings, mostly with the same 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. pattern. That is a comfortable full day. With a ship of this size, the tender queue in the morning is the main thing to plan around.
June and September are the busiest months
June and September each have 13 listed calls, July has 12 and August 9. The spring and autumn months are much quieter, which often means a calmer day in Èze and Monaco too.
Watch the days with two large ships
On six days, the listings show two or three ships of more than 1,300 passengers: 1 June, 6 July, 13 July, 27 July, 17 August and 7 September. Since December 2025, the prefectoral order allows only one ship of more than 1,300 passengers per day in the Villefranche anchorage zone. On those days, I expect at least one call to move, change or be cancelled. If your cruise is on one of them, confirm your call close to the date before you build plans around it.
The summer cap, a maximum of 15 large ships per month per anchorage zone in July and August, does not seem to be reached on these listings: I count 11 large-ship calls in July and 8 in August.
Some times are missing
Several entries, including all the Queen Elizabeth calls, have no published times. For those calls, I would not choose between a half day and a full day until the cruise line publishes the arrival and departure times.
How to use this calendar
- Find your date and ship in the table, then compare the times with your cruise line’s own itinerary.
- Check the departure time and the all-aboard time, not just the arrival. The column “Tours that fit this call” depends on both.
- Look for warnings on days with more than one large ship.
- Book early for the busiest days, especially in June and September.
- Send us your ship and date, and we will confirm the best route for your call.
Plan your 2027 shore excursion with Mago
Once you know your call, the rest is simple. Send us your ship’s name, the date, the scheduled arrival and departure times, your group size and the places you would like to see. We will check the call, suggest the tour that fits, and agree on a realistic meeting time on the Villefranche waterfront.
